MJ Aguayo

Marijean Aguayo was raised in Cedar City, Utah. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from California State University, Fullerton in 2015 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. After finishing school, she moved back to Cedar City and has been involved with family childcare for the last 4 years. In February 2016, Marijean graduated from Walden University with a Master’s Degree in Teaching and Diversity in Early Childhood. She is also a trainer for Care About Childcare.

Marijean has been married for 8 years and has one son. She is the youngest of 7, the aunt of 23, and the great aunt of 5. In her spare time, she loves to watch her son play sports, attend local sporting events, watch NFL with her family, make flannel board stories, or just relax! She feels strongly about advocating for best practices and policies because of her passion and love for young children. This passion for early childhood education started as a young college student at Orange Coast College. She attended school and worked in their early childhood program. It was here she learned about the importance of play for young children’s optimal development. Hands-on learning and her own personal play experiences have led her to be the educator she is today.
